Take App

Paying for your Take App subscription

You pay for your Take App plan from Settings > Billing in your dashboard. This article covers the ways you can pay, and what to do if a payment doesn't go through as expected.

This is about paying Take App for your plan. For how your customers pay you, see Payouts: when do I get paid?

Upgrade your plan

  1. Go to Settings > Billing and click Manage subscription.
  2. Choose the plan you want, monthly or yearly, and click Continue.

Step-by-step with screenshots: Upgrading subscription plan. To compare plans and prices, see pricing.

Ways to pay

Card

The usual way is a credit or debit card saved in Settings > Billing. Your plan renews on it automatically each month or year. To use a different card, see Change payment method for subscription.

If your card is declined, check that it supports recurring (subscription) payments and that your bank allows charges from Take App. See Subscription payment is overdue or failing.

Prepaid balance (no recurring card charge)

You can top up your prepaid balance in advance, and Take App uses it first whenever it bills you. This helps in countries where recurring card payments don't always work.

  • Go to Settings > Billing, scroll to Prepaid balance, and click Topup.
  • The minimum top-up is $10 USD.
  • Pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or WeChat. In Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and India you can also pay with your local QR (PayNow, DuitNow, QRIS, QRPH or UPI).
  • A top-up pays your next invoices. It doesn't pay an invoice that has already been issued — contact us if you want it to.

Details: Prepaid balance.

Other payment methods

If you'd rather not use a card, Take App also accepts bank transfer and these methods:

  • Wise, PayPal
  • Google Pay, Apple Pay, GrabPay, Alipay, WeChat Pay
  • Pix, PayNow, UPI
  • SEPA, MB WAY, iDEAL, BLIK, Przelewy24, EPS, Bancontact, Cartes Bancaires

To pay this way, contact us with your store link, and send a screenshot of the payment once you've paid.

M-Pesa and other mobile money aren't on this list. If your local payment method isn't listed, email help@take.app before you pay and we'll tell you what's possible.

I paid, but my plan didn't upgrade

Payments made outside your card on file can take some time to process. If your plan still hasn't changed, email help@take.app with:

  • Your store link (for example take.app/your-store)
  • The email address you log in with
  • Your receipt or a screenshot of the payment

I was charged after cancelling

Cancelling stops your next renewal. It doesn't end the billing period that has already started, and your plan stays active until that period ends.

  • After you cancel, Settings > Billing shows a red notice: "Will be cancelled at [date]". If you don't see it, follow the steps in Terminate/cancel my subscription plan.
  • Past-due invoices and usage charges (such as extra WhatsApp messages) are still billed after you cancel.
  • A yearly plan is paid upfront. You can cancel its renewal at any time, but you can't end the current year early.
  • Deleting your store does not cancel your plan. Cancel the plan first.

Take App doesn't refund subscription fees (see our Terms of Service, section 5.5). If you think a charge is a mistake, email help@take.app with your store link and the receipt.
