If you advertise your store with Google Ads, turn off Final URL expansion first. If you leave it on, Google can send your paid clicks to other stores on take.app.
Why you should turn it off
Google turns on Final URL expansion by default in Performance Max and AI Max for Search campaigns. It lets Google send an ad click to any page on your domain, not only the link you chose.
Every Take App store, such as your-store.take.app or take.app/your-store, is on the take.app domain. So Google can send your click to another merchant's store. You pay for the click, and the customer never sees your store.
Turn it off in a Performance Max campaign
- In Google Ads, go to Campaigns.
- Click the gear icon next to your Performance Max campaign.
- Under Campaign settings, click Asset optimization.
- Under Text, untick the Final URL checkbox.
- Click Save.
Turn it off in an AI Max for Search campaign
- In Google Ads, go to Campaigns, then Settings.
- Select your Search campaign.
- Click AI Max.
- In the Asset optimization panel, turn off Final URL expansion.
- Click Save.
Do this for every Performance Max and AI Max campaign, and for each new one you create — new campaigns start with the setting on.
If your store has its own domain
If you connected your own domain, such as yourbrand.com, use it as the link in your ads. Google then sends clicks only to pages on your own domain.
Google explains the setting in About Final URL expansion in Performance Max. If you manage your campaigns in Search Ads 360, see Google's Search Ads 360 steps.
