Customers can host a group order on one shared cart — like Grab Food group order. Guests add their own picks; the host pays once to one address. Guest items show on the order as For: Name (+65 …) so you know who ordered what and can reach them.
What you see as a merchant
On the cart, order detail, receipt, and WhatsApp order message, each guest's items appear as an ordinary line option labelled For: Sam (+65 9123 4567) (name plus their number in international format). Treat it like any other item option when preparing the order.
How a host starts a group order
- Open the cart drawer and tap Start a group order
- Optionally name the order (placeholder "Friday lunch") and tap Create link
- Copy the shareable URL or tap Share on WhatsApp
- A storefront banner shows You're hosting · {title}. It replaces your announcement or promo banner while the group is live; a store-closed notice still shows alongside if checkout is closed
- Tap the info button on the banner to reopen the invite. In the cart, use the refresh button to pull in new guest items
- Check out when ready — the group stays open if they back out of the form; placing the order ends it. Or tap End group order on the banner and confirm if they want to stop adds earlier
How a guest joins
- Open the invite link and shop into their own cart
- Tap Add to group order, enter their name and WhatsApp number — their items move into the host cart labelled For: {name} (+…)
- They can Tell the group on WhatsApp, tap Done, or Leave group order from the banner
Things to know (v1)
- While a group is live, the group banner replaces the store's announcement or promo banner. Operational notices (for example when checkout is closed) still show with it.
- Ending from the banner asks the host to confirm. Guests leave without a confirm.
- Merged carts cap at 60 items.
- New English strings only until the next translation run.
