What is an ig.me link?

It is Instagram's official short link for direct messages. ig.me/m/yourname opens a new message to that account in the Instagram app, or on instagram.com on a computer.

Does the customer need an Instagram account?

Yes. They have to be logged in to Instagram to send you a message.

Can I add a pre-filled message?

No. Instagram does not support a pre-filled message in DM links, so the customer types their own.

What's the difference from the Instagram QR code?

The Instagram QR code opens your profile. This link and QR code open a message to you, which is better when you want customers to order or ask a question.

Yes. No sign-up, no watermark, and nothing you type leaves your browser.

About this tool

An Instagram DM link opens a chat with your shop in one tap, instead of sending customers to your profile to look for the Message button. Enter your Instagram username to get an ig.me link and a QR code. Use the link on your website, in your WhatsApp status, in ads and emails, and print the QR code on packaging and signs so customers can ask a question or place an order on the spot. The link and code are made in your browser, and nothing is uploaded. If DMs are where your orders start, a Take App store link lets customers pick items and pay without you typing out prices one by one.
