A purchase order, or PO, is what you send a supplier when you buy stock, ingredients or packaging. It puts the items, quantities, agreed prices and delivery date in writing, so you can check the delivery and the supplier's invoice against what you ordered. Fill in your business as the buyer, add the supplier and the address to deliver to, and list each item with its price; the subtotal, tax and total are worked out for you. Give every PO its own number and ask suppliers to put it on their invoices, so bills and late deliveries are easy to track.
